Supergirl on Smallville

As most of us already know, a new Superman movie written & directed by James Gunn is about to be released. This movie stars David Corenswet as Superman / Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica / The Engineer, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt / Mister Terrific, Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason / Metamorpho, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan / Pa Kent, Neva Howell as Martha, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord, a CGI appearance by Krypto the Superdog, and last but not least, and Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl!

But before Milly Alcock played Supergirl in this movie, before Sasha Calle played Supergirl in the 2023 Flash movie, before Melissa Benoist played Supergirl on the CW TV show which ran from 2015 to 2021, this character was a regular for one season and then a reoccurring guest on the popular TV show Smallville (which ran from 2001 - 2011, and was mainly about young Clark Kent before he becomes Superman). On Smallville she was played by an actress named Laura Vandervoort. In this video, I go over the outline and some highlights of Kara a.k.a. Supergirl’s role on Smallville.

Please note: If you've only seen the CW show titled Supergirl (starring Melissa Benoist), then you do NOT know the story of Kara on Smallville. Here, she lands on Earth before Clark has become Superman. She does not get adopted by Jeremiah & Eliza Danvers. She does not have an adoptive sister named Alex Danvers (nor does she know her in any way). She never goes by the name Kara Danvers. She does not work for the Department of Extra-normal Operations (D.E.O.) with Hank Henshaw / Martian Manhunter / J'onn J'onzz. She does not live in National City. She does not work for Cat Grant at Catco Worldwide Media. She does not meet Barry Allen / the Flash, and travel through the multiverse (or even know about it). She does not meet Winn Schott, Mon-el, Brainiac 5, Lena Luthor, Dream Girl, or most of the other characters on this Supergirl show...
