Each year, there are an estimated 700,000 new graduates in Egypt, each chasing about 200,000 jobs. At the same time, the country's 72 million people, live on just 4 percent of its landmass. Creating jobs, producing enough food and reversing the flow from country to city are among the challenges identified in the Rural Poverty Report 2011 prepared by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). In this video, Egyptian farmer Hassan Abdul Rahman talks about his experience of moving out of the city and into the desert to farm.
