Bond Order for CO (Carbon monoxide)

Описание: There are several ways to find the bond order for CO (Carbon monoxide). In this video we'll draw the Lewis Structure for CO and then use this to determine the bond order.

In general, the higher the Bond Order, the:
• shorter the bond length
• stronger the bond
• more stable the molecule

Using the Lewis Structure works well for simple molecules. You can also use Molecular Orbitals to find bond order. For CO you get the same answer with both approaches.
