"The President of Uganda, Major General Idi Amin, has left Ethiopia where he proposed to Emperor Haile Selassie the convening of an emergency meeting of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU). Uganda's standing in the organisation suffered as a result of the successful coup led by General Amin against former President Milton Obote. General Amin went to Addis Ababa to explain to African ambassadors he reasons behind the coup."
