47805 & 50050 Powering Up & Down the WCML - 18th February 2026

Описание: A Locomotive Services Limited double treat seen speeding twice along the west coast main line at 2 locations being Springs Branch and Bamfurlong a few miles south of Wigan on the cold and windy day of Wednesday 18th February 2026.

First up in BR green is Cass 47 - 47805/D1935 "Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013" with 50050 at the rear working the opening leg of the empty stock run from Crewe to Carnforth running a few minutes late after following some late trains from Crewe. This move is likely just a test ahead of this weekends Worcester to Carlisle Statesman Tour.

A few hours later and now for the main event is the turn of Class 50 - D400/50050 "Fearless" wearing the BR corporate blue livery giving it the berries and thrashing abit at Bamfurlong having stopped as booked at Wigan. Delighted to catch 50050 again which I believe has had significant engine works in the last year or so.
