"Want to Go to Cuba But I Can't Go Now" originally written by Shorty Ralph Reynolds off of "Old-Time Banjo in America". On sleeve notes for his recording, Art Rosenbaum says that Reynolds learned his archaic banjo (aAEAE, A-minor modal) tuning, dating from the Spanish American War, from his father.
This version uses a tuned down gut string banjo in fFCFC tuning.
