In these days where so much divides and that division and its subsequent emotions are stoked by all sides, I have chosen with intention to find what unites, what is that common shared humanity.
It is writing a letter, it is baking a cookie, it is celebrating a Mother-In-Law.
Don't get me wrong, my head is not in the sand. I am not some Pollyanna Miss. Positivity.
But I am for common and shared humanity, I am for what binds us together and for not letting all of us be torn apart. These days fuses are short, fear is large. I beckon each of us to find places and spaces where there are walks we can take, beauty we can behold, living that we can do together where we find shared humanity.
I am angry at theological stances and ideological stances that I believe harm people AND I hold deeply into my heart that I am to love my neighbor, I am to love my "enemy." I will not allow these days to tear me apart or change me into some form of myself that I don't recognize.
So I find the movements and moments of life and living and I join together shouting to all.. Amazement, YOU are amazing! You get to shine.
