At most auctions, if a vehicle doesn’t meet the reserve price, the seller takes it back home.

However, Mecum Auctions offers a unique post-auction opportunity known as “The Bid Goes On.”

This system enables Mecum representatives to facilitate negotiations between buyers and sellers, aiming to reach a deal after the hammer falls.

While I don’t have access to Mecum’s official success rate, I’ve noticed they often manage to sell a few C3 Corvettes after the fact.

It’s not a guaranteed outcome, but based on past events, I’d estimate that 5–10% of unsold cars eventually find new owners through this process.
