Ancient Forest is the native MHW Rathalos location. On some Optional, Investigations and Event quests Rathalos can be seen in Elder's Recess as well. Watch the video for common Rathalos locations in Ancient Forest.

Rathalos Ruby is very rare and can only be gained by breaking Head, Back or carving the fallen Tail of a High Rank Rathalos while a Rathalos Plate can be obtained by breaking same 3 parts on both HR and LR Rathalos.
