I’ve been dealing with this for a while. Walking in the backyard has become annoying because of these hidden obstacles. When you’re walking in the grass, you don't notice them, but you definitely trip over them. I finally got tired of it and started removing tree stumps that were in my way.
My approach is simple: stump drilling. I’ve drilled deep holes to prepare the wood for faster decomposition. While I’m drilling wood, I’m also using potassium nitrate. Even if you just leave the saltpeter there, it helps the tree stump to rot much faster over time.
I’ve removed several of these before, and drilling is definitely easier than any other stump removal method I've tried. It’s just a basic backyard DIY task for anyone who wants to remove a tree stump without unnecessary mess. This stump treatment takes some time to work, but it’s the best way to ensure the wood is rotting properly. If you are stump drilling for the first time, you'll see it's a pretty satisfying process.
