Welp, there I sit with tears rolling down my face. One of Wagner's most magnificent moments! (But then there are the dreadful half-hours.) Absolutely outstanding performance by all!

I am absolutely in love with the singer in the green dress. What a beautiful piece of music, happy to listen to it again. However I confess that I fell for the clickbait, she is marvelous.

Imagine being in the audience at the first performance and hearing this. - like nothing you ever heard before PLUS, they're all riding horses in full battle armor. Wagner paves the way for the epic film music 100 years later.

While in the US navy in the mid 70's we used this as a breakaway piece after refueling or resupply at sea. The two ships would be alongside each other and upon completion the lines and/or hoses would be brought back inboard our respective ships. The ship being provisioned would then kick up the speed and pull away playing this piece. Picture this if you will: The two ships cutting through the waves and swells, this piece playing as one speeds off playing this inspiring piece. Breathtaking!!!
