“A building should be more when you go in it than when you look at it.” - Architect Steven Holl
The architectural design of the REACH celebrates the human experience while creating a living memorial at the nation's capital for arts, culture, and music. Conversations with the design team, including Steven Holl, Chris McVoy, and Garrick Ambrose guided our visual exploration of the space. This led us to serendipitous views of the reflecting pool, where children would play and watch dancers interact inside the transparent performance space. Along with a soundtrack echoing the interplay of parabolic forms, the design intent of the film reveals the lasting impact of design, not as a monumental structure but a place for history.
