In a spiritually enriching Staff Retreat held at Shalom Congregation in Osu, the General Assembly Office staff of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) were called to embrace a higher motivation for their work—pleasing God rather than merely fulfilling human expectations.
The Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye-Danquah, delivered a stirring address themed “Pleasing to the Lord,” anchored on Scripture from 1 Corinthians 12:12–20 and Colossians 3:23–24. He charged the staff to carry out their duties with diligence and faithfulness, rooted in a mindset of divine service.
Drawing from the biblical metaphor of the body, Rev. Aboagye-Danquah emphasized that although staff serve in different departments and roles, they are all integral parts of one body—the Church. “When one part fails to function effectively, it affects the whole system,” he explained. “Every role, whether visible or behind the scenes, is indispensable to our collective mission.”
