Following days of investigation into the firebombing of a Melbourne synagogue, authorities have finally declared the attack to be a "terrorist incident".

“When you see someone like Nova Peris, an Olympian, an Indigenous champion, stand up and say she apologises to the Jewish community for what they have gone through ... you know how widespread the sense of disenchantment with this government's leadership is,” Mr Frydenberg told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
