In this hybrid conversation, Savannah Wood, Executive Director of Afro Charities, and Teri Henderson, curator, writer, and Art+Feminism Board member, will explore the importance of archives and the stories they hold.
Co-hosted by Sheridan Libraries and Museums at Johns Hopkins University and facilitated by Siân Evans, Librarian for History and Area Studies. They will discuss what happens when community histories are overlooked or misrepresented in the data that shapes our digital world, and how intentional, feminist approaches to documentation can shift that landscape. Drawing from their work in preservation, interpretation, and cultural memory, they will share how community archives strengthen our understanding of the past and influence the narratives that guide our future.
