Quick sample of where to train your pet and how (outside Gatres of Kryta against Mergoyles, work your way around keeping to the right). It will evolve at levels 11 and 15. DONOT dish out any damage to the mergoyles, your pet must do the majority of the killing to be Dire. Failure to do so will result in an Aggressive or Playful pet, you may help kill the odd Skale in the way en route but only if they're in the way, don't go fighting any of the groups.
