📚In this exercise, the client’s feet are placed against the wall, essentially placing the patient in the same position they would be in at the bottom of a squat. This position helps stabilize the pelvis and lumbar spine in order to ensure thoracic spine mobility is being addressed. The patient is cued to find ‘tight spots’ on their upper back and work into them by placing the foam roll underneath them and leaning back over the foam roll for about 10 repetitions. You can move the foam roller up and down to work different areas of the thoracic spine.
