The first production run of this brace, in the thousands of units, was shipped out with polymer like detents that interfaces with the buffer extension tube, instead of metal detents.
SB Tactical was kind to replace two of my braces, and I received two metal detents (see “Posts” section of my channel).
All braces, as of about a year ago, ship with metal detents. The two I have now are shiny looking like stainless steel, but I believe are aluminum.
Polymer detents come in white and black. The black detents appear to be metal so please be careful as they do break easily! I’ve broken two (white and black) without trying! Should you buy this wonderful brace online, and it has a polymer detent, please email SB Tactical. If you buy one in a store, check it out before purchasing or buy it, contact SB Tactical, and they’ll likely swap out the braces with receipt.
