In Vol. 2 of our 1985 Porsche 944 we do a simple DIY shift linkage modification to tighten up the shifter a bit. This is a very easy modification that costs about $15 and takes about 30 minutes. Thanks to the folks on rennlist.com for the instruction on this awesome mod.
The pin from the shift lever is ground off and a M10x50 bolt/nut with a thrust bearing and two washers on each side of the shift rod replaces it. What this does is take the wear/movement action off of the shifter rod hole itself and puts it on the side edges of the rod. These bearings make it very smooth and there is basically no play when it'sl bolted together.
The parts needed are:
M10x50mm bolt- x1
M10 nylon lock nut matching the bolt above - x1
M10 thrust bearings - x2 (McMaster 5909K11)
M10 thrust bearing washers - x4 (McMaster 5909K71)
Повторяем попытку...
