However beauty is as beauty does and this vintage cassette tape recorder doesn't do very well with music. The problem is in its excessive wow and flutter, unusual in a capstan drive machine. The problem may be a worn out motor.

The machine came from E-Bay as a DOA. It had been "modified" by the previous owner. The main drive belt had been cut and glued back together with a lump of epoxy, which made the tape recorder useless!

The belts were replaced and a cold solder joint was repaired. It is now capable of recording and playback, but the quality of the machine isn't that good, so results are not6 only disdappointing, they are annoying!

Still, it looks nice. Enjoy the video!
