Recorded in London on June 28th 1934
The HMV house band under the direction of Ray Noble playing 'I'll String Along With You' from the film 'Twenty Million Sweethearts'. This was about a month before Noble travelled to the USA to lead a band in New York, taking Bill Harty and Al Bowlly with him.
Played on a Garrard 401 classic turntable with an SME 3009 tonearm, (non improved), fitted with a Grado Prestige 78E phono cartridge specially designed for playing 78s. Turntable refurbished by Dominic Harper of Northwest Analogue of Preston, Lancashire, UK.
Personnel: Nat Gonella and Max Goldberg-trumpet / Lew Davis, Tony Thorpe or Joe Ferrie-trombone / Freddy Gardner and Ernie Ritte -reeds/ Leon Goossens-oboe / 4 violins / Harry Berly and another-viola / Monia Liter-piano / Bert Thomas-duitar / Tiny Winters-string bass / Bill Harty-drums.
