KAALO has promoted protection activities for the IDP communities in Garowe and Bosaso under the GFFO project.
Project Name:
Multi-sectoral (Water-, Sanitation- and Hygiene - WASH, Food Security, and Protection) humanitarian response to humanitarian crises in Western, Central, and Eastern Africa.
The project’s primary objective is improving access to drought, locust, and COVID-19-affected communities to food/income, WASH, and community-based protection mechanisms. The project has three key and interlinked outcomes focusing on Food Security & Livelihoods, WASH, and Protection.
The first outcome seeks to improve access to food and income through immediate life and livelihood saving assistance and livelihood recovery support through cash and market-based approaches; the second aims to improve access to safe water supply and hygiene practices while the third focuses on strengthening protection capacities and improving safety and dignity through community-based protection response.
