Описание: Gambia's President Yahya Jammeh has conceded defeat after the electoral commission declared Adama Barrow as the winner of Thursday's elections. The result has come as a huge surprise to many in the country. Despite a surge of opposition support, many expected Jammeh to remain in power. President-elect Barrow garnered 263 thousand five hundred and fifteen votes. Jammeh got two hundred and twelve thousand and ninety nine votes. The news of the shock opposition victory came as the internet came back online. It was shut down on election day. President Jammeh has been in power for 22 years and four terms in office. Barrow is a former estate agent and businessman.
