Before you try to roll down a flatbank (ramps) on your skateboard make sure you know how to push and go from pushing on a skateboard into the riding stance and cruising and doing your backside heel carving turns and frontside toe carving turns on flat ground. And make sure you know hot to do backside and frontside kickturns on flat ground at least. Doing kick turns on ramps and quatertpipes is harder than flat ground and takes some time to master. But definitely know how to do a fakie on a flatbank and a quaterpipe. Fakie- Going up a ramp and going back down backwards (switch). Also make sure you have a grasp of switch riding. Knowing how to do a fake gives you the ability to roll down a flatbank and if there is a quaterpipe or another ramp ahead of you just do your fakie and you will be cool.(or do a kickturn if you have them down). Don’t forget to learn the run off which is bailing off your skateboard. Description below

When you baIl off a skateboard the best way to do this is by performing the run off. Once you're in a riding stance pivot your front foot straight with the skateboard keeping your weight behind the front wheels. Then you want to step off by shifting your weight forward onto your front food and running off with the momentum you created. You basically pick up your front foot off the front bolts. Don't push backward with your front foot because the board will fly backwards behind you. Make sure you always run as far as you need to until you slow down. Also if you are going fast do a run out into a roll with your momentum going forward.

When you do the run out going down the ramp make sure you are carrying all your momentum down the ramp so always run it out until you stop comfortably.

It's great that you want to learn how to roll down ramps on a skateboard! Here are some steps to help you get started with rolling down beginner and intermediate flatbanks:

1. Approach the ramp: Start by standing on your skateboard at a comfortable distance from the ramp. Make sure your feet are in the correct stance (regular or goofy) and positioned over the bolts of your skateboard.

2. Bend your knees: As you approach the ramp, bend your knees slightly to lower your center of gravity. This will help you maintain balance and control as you roll down the ramp.

3. Lean forward: As you begin to roll down the ramp, lean your body forward slightly to shift your weight towards the front of your skateboard. This will help you maintain control and prevent you from falling backward.

4. Keep your eyes on the ramp: Focus on the ramp as you roll down, and try to anticipate any changes in the slope or surface. This will help you react quickly and maintain control.

5. Stay relaxed: It's essential to stay relaxed and confident as you roll down the ramp. Tensing up can cause you to lose balance and control.

6. Practice on smaller ramps: If you're new to skateboarding or rolling down ramps, start with smaller, less steep ramps to build your confidence and skills.

7. Progress to intermediate flatbanks: Once you feel comfortable rolling down beginner ramps, you can progress to intermediate flatbanks. These ramps may be steeper or have more challenging features, so take your time and practice until you feel confident.
