The Duero Basin Authority (CHD) presents the documentary “DURIENSES: Endemic species of DUERO river.”
This documentary is the result of more than three years of observation and it dives through the Duero Basin to discover what makes this place one of the most unique evolutionary laboratories in the world, where two out of every three species of fish in the Duero Basin are unique endemisms that do not occur anywhere else.
An unprecedented filming effort to produce a documentary that shows, as never before, the life cycle of one of the world's most amazing biological groups in wildlife. Mass migrations as a reproductive strategy, adaptations to new forms of feeding, spectacular mating rituals. An intricate network of interspecific relationships collected in hundreds of hours of recording, conceived as a scientific study tool.
This documentary has been deserving of wide international recognition, as evidenced by the awards and prizes received in the different scientific and environmental film competitions where it has been presented.
This documentary is, without a doubt, the most visible part of the effort that the CHD has been developing in recent years to improve the conservation of our rivers, and in particular the recovery of longitudinal connectivity to allow and guarantee the free movement of fish.
