I open up about a painful personal experience where I was dropped by a friend who claimed to be loving and loyal, simply because my life was hard. I was in crisis. I wasn’t doing anything wrong—but I was treated like I was. And it hurt. Deeply.

I also share an honest confession: there have been times when I’ve done the same thing to others. I followed bad advice from spiritual leaders who convinced me that avoiding other people’s pain was necessary for my own “high vibration.” And I regret that deeply.

This video is a vulnerable conversation about the lack of real empathy and compassion in many spiritual circles. I talk about the way we abandon those in trauma, and how we can—and must—do better.
