Discover Olu Ella
Welcome to another breathtaking adventure! In this video, we explore Olu Ella, the 6th-tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka and the tallest in the Kegalle District. Standing at an impressive 127 meters tall and 18 meters wide, this stunning waterfall cascades down in four segments, and when including the part below the bridge, it reaches an incredible 200 meters in total height!
🗻 Olu Ella is powered by Wee Oya, which begins at the 1200-meter-high Baranawa Mountain, then flows through the Parusella area connecting with Welihel Oya, and finally joins the Kelani River at Yatiyanthota.
Despite its beauty, Olu Ella remains untouched by heavy tourist traffic due to its remote location, making it one of the country's cleanest and most pristine waterfalls. You can even drive right up to it without hiking, making it super accessible for all nature lovers! And the best part? Entrance is absolutely FREE! 😍
🚗 The road to Seepoth passes right through the waterfall, and along the way, you’ll find an ancient wooden bridge built during the colonial era. This charming bridge, still in use today, was originally used to transport tea leaves and is believed to be the oldest wooden bridge still functioning in Sri Lanka.
