For years, the share of GDP has been shifting increasing towards corporations, and away from workers. In Australia, wages have increased by just 2% per year, which is half the traditional rate. Now, with the war in Ukraine and an ongoing pandemic, prices are taking off at a rate unseen in the last 25 years, leaving wages far behind.
Dr Jim Stanford, Economist and Director of the Centre for Future Work explains the extent of the issue, and what can be done to fix it.
