A timeless tradition in the heart of the Walled City.
A powerful display of faith and Marian devotion as Catholic faithful gathered for the 44th Intramuros Grand Marian Procession held on Sunday, December 7. Celebrated every first Sunday of December, the annual procession honored the Virgin Mary through various sacred Marian images carried through the historic streets of Intramuros.
This year’s official count recorded 42 Marian images from the Cofradia’s original list of 56 participants—matching the post-pandemic turnout first seen in 2022. The tradition coincides with the observance of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, making it one of the most significant religious events in the Philippines.
