Описание: In this animation, you can see a laser beam path inside Herriot Cell including a solid-state nonlinear medium. Alternatively, the cell can be filled with a gas, and gas can be used as a nonlinear medium. Ultrashort pulses propagating in such a cell experience non-linear spectral broadening due to self-phase modulation. Interestingly, this kind of cell suppresses the effect of catastrophic beam collapse or self-focusing.
