Al Capone’s Enforcer PULLED THE TRIGGER at Point-Blank Range — Chicago Went Silent After This
In the late 1920s, near midnight in Chicago, in a private room at the Lexington Hotel, the hand of Capone’s closest enforcer trembled slightly as his fingers tightened around the grip of his pistol. Not out of fear, but because he fully understood the cost of this moment. A discreet deal, whispered promises, and a prearranged escape route if the bullet left the barrel. The plan was very simple: stand behind Al Capone, pull the trigger at point-blank range, and let Chicago take care of the rest.
Capone was sitting at the table with his back to the room, his hat placed beside his glass of liquor, completely exposed amid the cigar smoke, bootleg whiskey, city police, and politicians pretending not to see one another. The enforcer stepped forward, less than a meter away, drew his gun, aimed directly at the back of Capone’s head, and pulled the trigger. Click. No explosion. Just a dry, hollow sound that echoed and then vanished.
