In the 19+/Open Head-to-Head Cycle Relay tournament, my team, Full Metal STACKit, was the #1 seed after qualifying first for the timed 3-6-3 relay in prelims. There were 9 teams in the tournament, and we had a bye to the quarterfinals. We won our first two matches to advance to the championship. In 3 races, we were able to defeat Team Germany MALT and win the division world championship. This was my 3rd time winning a world championship title, and my first since 2011. Shout out to my team for giving me large leads to work with most races. I almost let the country down in the final race, but I remained calm and closed it out. It was pretty cool to be able to celebrate the win with my team, instead of waiting to see what time everyone else gets like I did when I won my division for individual 3-6-3 and Cycle back in 2011. This was also the sixth consecutive competition where my relay team won the head-to-head cycle relay tournament. My teams in those competitions were:
Gale Force (with Daniel, Kailey, and Andrew at Detroit 2013)
Razor Sharp (with Luke, Joel, and Andy at Kansas City 2014)
#ForAmerica (with Kevin, Mike, Zach, and Drew at Philly 2014)
Razor Sharp (with Luke, Joel, and Joel at Des Moines 2014)
Discount Double Check (with Peter, Justin, and Guyton at Arlington 2014)
Full Metal STACKit (with Zhewei, Mike, and Daniel at Montreal 2015)
By the way, our team name was declared by Kit as the best pun of the tournament. Sure, there's no prize for that, but still pretty cool.
I stack for the United States of America.
