French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump to the G7 Summit in Evian-les-Bains and highlighted what he described as a significant peace agreement involving Iran.



Speaking before bilateral talks, Macron said the agreement could help resolve concerns surrounding Iran's nuclear program and contribute to broader stability in the Middle East. He also expressed hope that the deal could bring peace to Lebanon and said France was prepared to support international efforts to implement and sustain the agreement.



Macron thanked Trump and his delegation for attending the summit and emphasized the importance of cooperation among G7 nations on global challenges, including Iran, Ukraine, economic growth and international security.



The French leader also pointed to the long-standing alliance between France and the United States, noting upcoming commemorations linked to the 250th anniversary of American independence.



The G7 Summit in France brings together leaders from the United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada, Japan and the European Union for discussions on global conflicts, trade, energy security, artificial intelligence and geopolitical challenges.
