Wing-TAT 56" Industrial Ceiling Fan, Model CF1

Описание: White finish with white curved blades. Manufactured around 1980. Uses a cast aluminum motor. Blades are aluminum. Despite the presence of a nipple, the fan is not light kit adaptable; removal of the nipple reveals a solid motor shaft; this actually does still have a functional purpose, however, in that it makes bearing replacement easier in the event of a bearing becoming stuck in the bottom end bell.

This cast grooved motor was actually TAT's first motor design, going back to at least the 1960s; the round and flat UFO motors were introduced in the 1970s; and oddly enough, the round UFO motor was the first to come to the United States.

56" cast TATs seem to be fairly uncommon, as we see far more of the later stamped steel variants.

Performance is fairly decent, although I've seen better. Like the stamped variants, it takes forever to get up to full speed; this seems to be a typical trait with the standard round motors, cast or stamped. Like with other cast TATs, the motor seems to have a bit of a grumble on full speed; I'm thinking it's a motor varnish issue.

For the purpose of testing, I used a Nutone 4-speed wall control rated for 1.5 amps. Low and medium-low provide decent speeds; however, medium-high hits a resonant frequency.
