We see two iconic women using the same grammar rule for different reasons. One for social status, one for being in love desperately. Turkish grammar is consistent, no matter the century!
Homework: Choose a verb—any verb—and make it a negative command in the comments. For example: 'Gitme!' (Don't go!) or 'Konuşma!' (Don't speak!).
