Making a Rebate Plane / Rabbet Plane mainly with hand tools

Описание: In this video I am making a rebate plane (rabbet plane for Americans) which I made the handle so it looks like most of the kerfing planes I saw on the www. I love the design and the function is good, but it needs some tweaking. Definitely a new wedge, I would like a walnut one (the temporary one is from pine). Maybe in the future with the new wedge I will make a hole for the waste, which I designed on the plane but eventually didn't bore. Also I might make a smaller mouth.

The wood was from a pallet and it's beech. I didn't choose particularly the one with a knot but it looks nice. I should've start will squaring the boards first, but I had only the design in my mind and did it afterwards. The sole was flattened with a plane and then with 80, 120, 180 and 220 sand paper on a glass surface.

The design of the front is inspired by Mr. Stavros Gakos (but it's million miles behind his amazing designs).
