Learn how to build application in Unity without writing C# code. Visual Scripting is now mainstream. It is used to build AAA games. This is particularly true on the Unreal platform where Blueprints and visual scripting are utilized wildly to deliver complete commercial game solutions.
BOLT
Unity has been a bit slow to adopt a standard visual scripting engine. However in 2020, Unity took a step towards that by purchasing Bolt. Bolt is a powerful visual scripting language that is a great place for beginners to get started.
Bolt also includes a powerful state machine as well. This allows you to architecture complex game applications completely within a visual language. Even better, Bolt can quickly integrate and be used with external libraries.
PLAYMAKER
Playmaker is another powerful option that uses state machines and action based nodes to build up your game. Playmaker is much different that Bolt in that it focuses on the state machine aspects of visual scripting. This means that for C# developers, Playmaker requires a bit different way of thinking.
LATERAL THINKING WITH VISUAL SCRIPTING
At First Class Game Studios we often use visual scripting in our Mojo MasterMind group to introduce developers to lateral thinking techniques. Our research has proven that this greatly accelerates how quickly a developer can go from beginning skill levels to creating complex games using the latest design techniques.
With Mojo, First Class Game Studios has been able to teach people with virtually no coding skills at all to be come expert developers in just 20 hours. Yes you heard that right. 20 hours. If you would like to find out more, please visit us at:
