Me and my friend, Miguel, went on a little journey to Philadelphia, which is about two hours from Fort Meade, where we are currently stationed. Something ties us together, he understands me better than anyone else. We share a fascination with Jack Kerouac and other writers who chased a dream of exploring the world as a vagabund with no materialistic ties. Both of us are hoping to find some part of this dream in our life in the Navy.
We didn't do much in Philly, for the majority of the time we sat on a bench in the shade and smoked lots of cigarettes, talking about art, love, and life.
