Hiking trails in Alaska are NEXT LEVEL! It is so rare to be someplace where you can hike alongside glaciers, see views of such vast & wild wilderness, and possibly view wild animals like moose, bears, sheep, and mountain goats.

If you visit Alaska - don’t miss these hikes! 👇

🏔️Harding Icefield Trail - this is located in Kenai Fjords National Park. The hike is 9 miles with over 3,000 feet of elevation gain and the trail takes you to incredible views of the largest icefield in the USA!

🏔️Portage Pass - Located near Whittier, this 4.5 mile trail is steep (1,400 feet of elevation gain) but worth the climb as you get to see incredible mountain views, Portage Glacier, and Portage Lake.

🏔️Byron Glacier - This short and easy hike is also near Whittier at 2 miles round trip with minimal elevation gain. This trail brings you to a great view of Byron Glacier and is a hike the whole family can go on.

🏔️Savage River Loop - Located in Denali National Park, this is the prettiest trail in the front of the park. The hike is 2 miles with minimal elevation gain and follows the Savage River as it winds through steep, grassy slopes.

🏔️Slaughter Ridge - The hardest hike on the list due to how much elevation you climb in a short distance. This hike is 4.5 miles with 2,700 feet of elevation gain but is worth every step because the views at the top are unreal!

🐶ALL hikes are dog-friendly besides Savage River Loop and Harding Icefield since they are in national parks.
