[World Record] 007: Nightfire Speedrun | No Clipping/OoB in

Описание: For the past 10 years, people have been speedrunning 007: Nightfire on the GameCube version for various reasons. The controller is nice because it has notches around the analog stick that help with movement, the game generally runs better because it has very few unnecessary graphical effects, new runners tend to play on GameCube because that's the version most other people use, and there's a great GameCube emulator that plays the game very accurately. However, the GameCube version has some fatal flaws that make it slower for speedruns: Loading times and cutscene fade-in.

In this category, the Xbox version saves over 2 minutes from loading times. It also saved 2 seconds for every cutscene because cutscenes don't fade in on the Xbox version like they do on GameCube. Despite the No Clipping/OoB world record by OllieNK being one of the most insane Nightfire speedruns I've ever seen, it's pretty easy to beat that time in a total landslide due to the Xbox version being so much faster. Thankfully OllieNK is planning to run this game on Xbox soon so expect to see a new amazing world record from him in the very near future. But for the time being, I'm happy with having my first full-game world record in this game, even if it's just for playing on a faster version of the game.

The goal of this category is to beat the game without doing any of the out of bounds glitches or going through walls. It is essentially a glitchless run through the game. It might sound a bit boring if you're used to Nightfire being that game with a bunch of cool glitches speedrunners do, but this category is a lot more fun than I expected it to be. Movement is the most important thing in this run, and it's the difference between getting a good time and getting a great time.

My run is very improvable. I lost a lot of time in Double Cross, Chain Reaction, and Countdown. Enemies Vanquished also could have been better because I ran into traffic at one point. I think a better Nightfire speedrunner could do a run in less than 41 minutes with ease.
