This video follows I-26 eastbound through the Columbia area from Chapin in northern Lexington County to the I-77 interchange southeast of the city. The route also passes through the Carolina Crossroads interchange that is currently under construction to improve the I-20/26/126 interchange.
Interstate 26 is the primary east-west and longest interstate in the state of South Carolina and connects all of the major population centers (Greenville-Spartanburg, Columbia, and Charleston) with each other. Through the Columbia area, I-26 is a busy corridor connecting the city proper with Lake Murray to the northwest and Orangeburg to the southeast.
