What will it take to see Elders in our population as a strength of experience, knowledge and wisdom in their contribution to community? How do we change the narrative on aging in our province to a positive from the current negative portrayal in media?
Barb Burnett is the Executive Director on the Atlantic Institute on Aging, and William Randall is Professor of Gerontology at St. Thomas University. Together they share and explore where shifts in awareness need to occur, with one example the idea of a 61Inc. group to parallel the dynamic and goals of the current 21Inc. strategy for younger people.
During the show we air a wonderful video produced by the American Association for Real Possibilities (AARP) on one way to change the narrative on aging. Many thanks to AARP for permission.
