This was to be a Wooden Boat Association QLD Messabout on Moreton Bay out from Cabbage Tree Creek out from Shorncliffe but the Weather gods had other ideas, we decided the forecast for Wivenhoe was somewhat better with a top of 12knots forecast so we decided to change the venue.
Arriving at Wivenhoe there were 3 of us Phil in his Norwalk Island sharpie, Ales in his Bolger bobcat, and myself in the Scruffie 16. The wind seemed reasonable at around 8-10knots but soon after launching it had come up to around the forecast 12knots, we stopped for morning tea in a bay east of Hamon Cove, we then set off for Hamon cove for lunch this is when the wind really started blowing, we recorded wind gusts of 23knots.
