I doubt people will immediately think of Chandler's Marlowe novels as adventure stories, and for a long time I had no intention of putting detective stories onto the channel. However, after a request for some Raymond Chandler, I did give some thought to the way Chandler himself described Philip Marlowe - rather in the terms of something more than a mere detective. Marlowe might be tough, but he's definitely The Good Guy, and in his own way he's a sort of Knight Errant, the last righteous hero in a landscape of corruption. So, there's my justification... Besides, a good story is a good story...
