The song “Muththa Mazhai” is picturized in a performing arts theatre setup. In the visuals, the character Indhrani (played by Trisha) performs it on stage with dancers. The lyrics reflect her emotional state and express her longing over the absence of Rangaraaya Sakthivel (played by Kamal Haasan).
Interestingly, the Chinmayi reprise version (which she performed live at the audio launch) caught strong popular response. Even though the Dhee version is the “official” Tamil version in the film, many fans appreciated Chinmayi’s rendition so much that there was demand for it to be included.
According to the Thug Life soundtrack page, Chinmayi’s performance during the audio launch was “well received,” and a “Muththa Mazhai (Reprise)” version was officially released on 4 June 2025.
