Brynje Super Thermo Mesh Base Layer Review – Unboxing, Features, and Real-World Winter Test in Sub-Zero Ontario.
From Norway, Brynje's Super Thermo Mesh is a game-changing lightweight base layer (just 5 oz) with a unique fishnet design that traps air for 3-5x more warmth than traditional merino or synthetics.
I had heard of the concept of a mesh base layer, but when I stumbled on the company Brynje from Norway, I was intrigued. High ventilation which would be awesome, and lightweight but how could it be warm? It is claimed to be 3-5 x warmer than a traditional base layer but it's full of holes. So I bought a long sleeve Super Thermo and tested it. This product seems to be hard to get and must be imported from Norway (although there is now a US distributor). It has been used for years and apparently for the first summit of Everest they used mesh as a base layer. The people of North America deserve to know about this amazing layering option. The video begins with an epic unboxing then outdoors in sub zero Ontario winter weather for a test.
