In addition to the varying bpm, “Accelerate“ is an experiment with time signatures and pitch changes, suggesting speed changes, creating a sense of confusion and unsettle the listener. Speed-ups followed by slow-downs, small bursts that change rapidly and employ strategic and unexpected uses of silence and negative space to enhance dynamics.
