For over 48 hours, social media has been in a frenzy over unverified claims of Imran Khan’s death—rumours triggered by a source-based Afghan media report alleging that the former Pakistan Prime Minister died inside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. The Afghanistan Times claimed the 72-year-old leader succumbed to mistreatment in custody and that his body had been secretly moved out of the prison. Soon after, the so-called “Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Balochistan” amplified the allegation, declaring he had been assassinated.

But Adiala Jail authorities have broken their silence—firmly denying the speculation. According to local reports, officials say Imran Khan has not been moved, remains “in good health,” and is receiving full medical care. “There is no truth to these reports,” they said, calling the rumours “baseless”.
