Although there are a few more warning signs that you may need to pay attention to , here are five warning signs that you may have skin cancer.

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. More people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year more than any other cancer in the US.

So here are some ABCDE of Skin Cancer Warning Signs:

A for Symmetery
B for Border
C for Color
D for Diameter
E for Elevation and/or Evolution

Besides the areas you would expect to find skin cancer on the body such as arms, legs, face and back, other areas that most people would not think to look or suspect they may have skin cancer are:
-Fingernails/ Toe Nails (nail bed)
-In between in fingers and toes
-Soles of your feet
--Scalp
-Groin
-Inside the belly button

The most common areas for men to have skin cancer:
-neck
-back
-ears

The common place for women to have skin cancer:
-Legs



Men are 3x more likely to have skin cancer

People between the ages of 45-54 are more likely to get skin cancer

People who have a family history of skin cancer also have increased risk of skin cancer
