How to simulate realistic fire! This tutorial is focused on an actual case study of a film project involving realistic fire simulations.
This is part 1 of 2 - Make sure to check out the second video which is focused on creating a procedural workflow for automating your fire simulations.
The focus is not only on the creation of realistic fire, but how to intelligently build an effects workflow for 'painting' fire wherever you want to simulate it. Rather than having to manually create it every single shot.
This uses 3ds max - but the workflow can work in Maya (FumeFX) and Houdini (PyroFX) with the same identical approach.
